Prude Ranch – Texas Star Party on May 10, 2010

Observed with Dennis Beckley and Faith Jordan  We decided to hit the TSP Superthin galaxies AOL 2010.  We completed the requirements in one night.  I took somewhat brief notes as I was sharing eyepiece time with Dennis and Faith.

This night was pretty far below average as the transparency wasn’t so hot.

Many of the observed flat galaxies are re-observations from my April trip to Cronan Ranch, but with darker skies with a smaller instrument.

Instrument:  18” f/4.5 Obsession Classic

Eyepieces: 27mm Panoptic (finder) ,11mm TeleVue Plossl, 6mm Zeiss ZAO-II, 8mm Ethos and 7.5 Tak LE

NELM = 6.9

Seeing - 5/10 to 7/10 and Transparency – 5/10
